Achieving Sustainability
Sustainability, the ability to create something that satisfies the needs of the present generation without jeopardising the needs of future generations, has long been a goal in public buildings. With increasing pressure from businesses and consumers, building design in all sectors now embraces the need to reduce environmental impact, increase efficiency and minimise carbon footprints wherever possible.
Sussex Building Control works with architects, designers, developers and contractors to help projects achieve sustainable outcomes covering energy usage, noise, pollution and water usage, during construction and across the lifecycle of the building.
You can download our latest guide, Creating High Performance Sustainable Buildings from this website.
In addition, Sussex Building Control is now a licensed organisation to undertake and advise on Code for Sustainable Homes assessments. We can attend design team meetings to brief you on the Code requirements, offer technical advice to achieve a particular Code rating, undertake code assessment and issue code rating certificates.
