Customer User Group
Keeping you informed and helping you comply with the Regulations is our aim which is why we set up our Customer User Group. Made up of builders, architects and designers the User Group meet with us twice a year to give feedback and exchange ideas and information. Each session lasts about 1-2 hours and often involves a lively debate on current construction issues. We also invite developers and other construction professionals along to discuss a recent project and share their thoughts and experience with the group. These sessions are invaluable, they give us the opportunity to sit down with Building Control and tell them about problems we face. Often Building Control Surveyors are focused on the Regulations but we can provide an insight in to the needs of our customers helping SBC adjust their service accordingly.
At the last User Group meeting, Saxon Weald came to talk to us about their experience of building to Code Level 5. As many of us are involved in designing and building new homes, and are now working with the Code for the first time, it was great to be able to learn from others who have already done it!
As an architect I’m keen to meet structural engineers and builders who are committed to the regulations – I really enjoying catching up with them at these meetings and discussing future projects over a coffee.
